Well today I finally got to take my BK-2 out today out at my parents place. Did some chopping, batoning, and just general mayhem. Loving the blade. But while I was chopping on some dead rotten pine logs extracting little bits of fatwood (rich lighter pine where I'm from) I noticed a pile of wood next to where I was chopping, I thought that looks like, nah prob not. But sure enough a huge pile of solid fatwood logs. Enjoy!

Great pics!
And great score on the fatwood.
If possible, you ought to haul those logs back to the house for some processing.

Always love pics like these and that's some pretty fat wood/fat pine/lighter pine. I've gotta get back out in these pine orchards soon. These pics are tempting me n

you should bring some of that to the esee spring campout in 2 weeks -- that suff makes great bonfire!

whoa. nice find! i never find good stuff like that whenever i'm looking. if you use it right there's enough there for 20 yrs at least. my 10 lb stash from last year is still here even after giving a handful to friends here and there.

Great find! I recently found something similar to this in a little bit of a smaller quantity. Nothing like fatwood to get your fire going!

You know I might try and make it there, it's only about an hour and forty five min away.

Yeah my dad had a piece about 1/4 the size of one of those logs. We used it for years using it to get the bbq pit going.

it's pretty fun and laid back - after 8 the campfire talk becomes "not so kid safe" as the drinking gets seriously under weigh. anyone is welcome. (I'll be bringing my patrol machete so folks can try it out)
