Cool Find Bucklite 426 (1st post)

Nice find. Not a collector's piece but it is a well made knife. Oil it up, sharpen it, and you're set to go. If I remember correctly, those had 425M blade steel.

That's kind of what I'm reading. Not bad for dragging a magnet at the end of a dock though!
 
The quintessential knife carried by scouts in the 80's, like me. We'd go down to the gun shop, who happened to stock a boy scout "section". Merit badge books, uni's, etc. But they also had a few rotating displays of knives. One was dedicated to buck, my buddies and I would rotate the case and drool. We didn't have $12 to buy the bucklite, or whatever it cost. I remeber how excited I was when my dad presented me with an od green bucklite to try at scouts. Its a great hiking/camping/hunting knife. Just enjoy that one!!
