Cool Find During Hike Today !

Found my first Hummingbirds nest today, didn't want to disturb it so just snapped a quick pic and moved away as quickly as I could.

Nice, we have hummingbirds all around our house. We have a feeder we put sugar water in, they love it.

Wow, those eggs look delicate. Found this two weeks ago and assume they're humming birds. All gone now...someone bigger got hungry.

I find the nests all the time! But I live in Northern Idaho in the middle of the forest. The nests are so small, the eggs are usually about the size of a pea as well.

I found one 3 years ago on my property that was made almost entirely of spiderweb with a little moss. very cool

It makes sense Fujita that they would have high protein needs besides the carbs(sugar) with the activity they have and jacked metabolism

Saw some beautiful ones in the mountains of Cuba in january

Also amazing to me is that beaks get longer only when they develop their flight feathers.
