Been resting up a bum knee the last couple of days and was going stir-crazy in the process, so i thought I'd check out a garage sale that had pocket knives listed in the add. Wouldn't you know the guy actually had some Schrades! Of course I went with very little money, so went for the two rarest, a couple of Ellenville/Wawarsing 4th of July knives! One's a 1997, the other (the trapper/296SC) is a 1997. Unfortunately some dolt rubbed the etch off that one:mad:. There were a couple of nice LB7's and a few OT's as well, along with some pretty, or should I say very beat up Cut. Cos.. The LB's and the OT's were going for $30 a piece, as well as the 4ths (I got the '99 down to twenty on account of thre lack of an etch:D. :

Now, feeling like this might be my lucky day, I took a ride over to the flea market to try my luck ( which I've never had much of the few times I went). Wouldn't you know I found the prize of the day, a sweet little number made to commemorate fifty years of service by none other than Pete Di Nuccio! I was flabbergasted to say the least. They were keepsakes made for the employees, so you rarely see them out. It even came in one of the old redwood boxes. I also snagged a Napanoch FD commemmorative, but I had to put it on layaway 'till next week:o:D. I'll post it here when I pick it up.
I'm broke, but happy!!

We don't find these kind of knives in our neighborhood Eric. I find Coleman coolers and baseball mitts. Nicely done.

Nice finds Eric, especially the commemorative lockback. Flea markets round this area don't bring much in the way of knives either.

LOL
"Hey Petey!! I got your knife!!!! 500 bucks and I DO take PayPal!!"
I mostly find Camillus electricians knives at garage sales
I don't know who he is?
Is he famous??
50 years is sweet!!
Old school American worker:thumbup:

Petey might have croaked, and his commemorative knife ends up in a yard sale. Sad... :(

Hey guys, Pete was the boss-man:eek:. I can only imagine what his knife looked like! I heard he was tough, but a lot of folks liked him. This knife is #70, so I'd imagine they had a good number of them made up for the higher-up employees.
To extend today's saga, I just got back from a local auto-parts store, where I went to order a new flasher for the jeep. While I was waiting for them to order it , I glanced down into the glass case and spotted an Imperial Eagle ---. Looks very similar to an LB7. I can't believe this was in a high perf. parts store! I'm not too up on the Imperials, and haven't looked this one up yet, but it's BNIB. Unfortunately they were closing, and I didn't want to bother them to take it out of the case, so I'll have to check it out when I pick up the part on Tues.

Thanks Larry, that was a huge help! It's the Frontier Double Eagle 4815. Even had the same blade etch. Brown box had the Kentucky Rifle logo as well.

Very nice finds!! the chance of running into one that belonged to an employee in my neck of the woods, 1 in a million, I would wonder if a theft or some other nefarious act caused the knife to be dislocated from the family? I would be hard pressed to let go of things of family ties.

I think my post was mis-interpreted. The knife wasn't made only for Pete Di Nuccio. It was more like a party favor if you will for those employees who attended his 50th Ann. with the company party. This knife belonged to one of the employees. And I might add an employee with almost as many years with Schrade as Mr Di Nuccio. I have to admit that today I was just lucky, I've spent many a day canvasing the area and coming up with zero Schrade, Imperial, or North American knives for that matter.
