Hey all. I've wanted to post this since just before Christmas, But kept slipping my mind till now. Don't know if there has been a post for something like this or not.
My Mom got one of these from a co-worker for Christmas and I saw it when we went over for Christmas Dinner.
Have a look at it here from Lee Valley Tools

Ive seen this thing in action It heats up fast and stays hot for quite a while.
When I say fast...I mean blink and you'll miss it. Puts out good heat too! Like I wouldn't want to put it down the front of my shorts. Totally re-usable...Just wrap it in a cloth and boil in water for about 5 min. Good for 500+ uses

I found this you tube video too. (Sorry, I can't figure out how to imbed the video here...So just click the link)

This would be great if you live in a colder climate (like I do) where you will experiance harsh winters. (only -15 today so I might actually have to put on long pants) I bought 6 of these. 4 for the 72hr box and 2 in my bugout bag. Only like $5:eek: Well worth the investment.

I've used these in the past. They are reusable, but they don't last forever. Eventually the plastic exterior will break. If you need instant heat, though, they definitely will provide it.

Have you tried the non-Zippo brands such as those in your link?

If you're asking me if I've tried the $3.99 replacement burners in my Zippo handwarmers, then "yes," they fit and work just fine.

If you're asking if I've used the non-Zippo handwarmers, then "no." That said, considering how they work (they're pretty simple,) then I think I'd give them a try. Had I known about them before buying the Zippos, I would have purchased at least one of these instead.
