I found this table at a local second-hand store and grabbed it super-quick for $40.00. It is an amazing piece of work combining high-quality taxidermy and carpentry.

The hooves sit perfectly flat and the table is rock-solid and level. The legs have been flayed and wrapped around wood supports of different diameters and sewed up again. The whole top is covered in hide on all surfaces and works perfectly as a knife display because the soft hair won't scratch them. None of the hooves match so I think it's made from at least four different animals.

I figure this is a pretty rare and cool oddity that makes a perfect display for hunting/bushcraft knives and is totally to my taste. I loaded it up for the photos with 30 knives that don't usually get to play together. Just thought I'd share... :)

Dave, Your 4" Frontier folders with the white Delrin scales have what model number on the blade. I have one like those and the blade has 4515 which should be wood scales. The white scale ones should have a blade marked 4512 (I have one of those). The 4512 doesn't have the brass end to the bolster, second one down.

Nice grouping there ed! Double Eagle, Ol' Ivory, Diamond Edge, Gunpowder Black and All American. Nice to know I'm not the only one who really likes the Sportsman pattern!

These Frontiers are from a 1979 gift set: "Old Faithful Companions II" and have no model # stamp but they do have blade etchings not seen in photos here. You are right that they are just like the Double Eagles but in "Ol' Ivory" delrin and not wood.

Here's a link to the thread about these sets:

Thanks for the comments Howie! I think folks will either love or hate the table. Not much middle ground available. Cheers!

I have 6 46 series Frontiers, one Imperial backpacker (center of picture), one Sears, one AA-41 so I must like the pattern. Should get them all together for a picture. Thank You for the information on the odd knife (mine has nothing on the blade).
