If you use ball chains, (the kind dog tags use,) if the connectors have holes on both the front and back you can make a loop for a lanyard by threading it through the back, cliping it in, going around and cliping it in the other end of the connector.

Also, use the shell of 550 parracord to shroud this so it doesn't clank.

I recently started using a lanyard thats tied with 2 pieces of 550. I have no idea what it's called but i've seen it used for keychains.
