Check out this Patina that is forming over my BK2 on the areas of heavy use (I have practicing a lot of batoning with it). I think it looks awesome.

Good start.

Cut up some meat and veggies. Makes a good patina, and tasty snacks.....

Thank you sir. I'm expecting some pretty sweet patterns with time and use. Maybe I'll make a dinner or two with the BK2!

Looks great.
Also go out and cut some lemons...it will leave a subtle patina also.

Lookin' good. Like everyone else said, meat and veggies leave a good patina. I cut up some kiwi fruit the other day with my 5 and it left a really interesting pattern.

Thank you for the kind words and suggestions. I'll keep updating as my knife progresses over the years.

Looks cool! I stuck mine Eskabar in a raw 7lb pot roast for a couple hours and it turned a beautiful bluish color. When I rubbed a drop of gun oil on the blade the next day it came right off. The original forced patina I put on it still looks great IMO. I used Sciracha sauce on two neck knives and it worked better for me than several types of mustard and lemon juice. I even combined mustard and lemon juice. It always came off rather easily too. I posted a photo of one of them last week. Even after oiling, batoning, and washing with hot soap and water it's still holding up nicely.
