I just found out about this today. It appears a Randall Survival Class is coming West! Wrightwood California to be specific. Looks like some pretty basic, yet useful skills covered.

INFO from Randall's Forum:

When: November 11-13 2011
Where: Wrightwood, CA (Inspiration Point Trailhead) an elevation of about 7,000 feet.

This will be the first of what we hope to be an ongoing class on the West Coast. Instructors will be Reuben Bolieu and Reza Allah-Bakhshi.

Schedule:
Day 1 (Friday)- Meet at trailhead 9 am. Short hike to camp, student put up their own shelter, be it tent/bivy/tarp/hammock. First Aid, Navigation, Knife Safety and Use, Fire Making.
Day 2 (Saturday)- Shelter, Traps, Knots, Students Make Campfire.

DAY 3 (Sunday)- Make Water Filter, Signaling.

I can't make the dates for this class, but if it catches on, I certainly will sign up for a future one.

Info can be found in "General Discussion" thread of the jungletraining.com forums.

Finally So Cal getting some attention. Count me in, this would be great. Ill keep my eye on this. Thanks for the heads up.
