Hey guys , have I got a shoddy, unorganised , greenhorn question for you ! I'm in Thailand and have been offered a supposedly 25 year old , Nam phe steel sword in a private sale. I have been looking for hours and can't find one the same as it . I am aware that it is not an extremely valuable sword, but I would like your opinions on it if you would be so kind . SORRY ABOUT THE PHOTOS I WILL GET BETTER ONES ON FRIDAY . Any info would be great . Thanks ...... Ok so I write all that THEN find out I can't post pictures. God hates me :(

I don't think God hates you, he just wants you to learn how to post pictures. I know you can do it..

Hi guys/girls , I'm about as tech savvy as a shovel so it is more than likely I'm screwing this up, but is there a reason I can't post a photo of a sword in my post ? My vocabulary has been found desperately lacking in the sword terminology that would be needed to describe it with words alone. All I can come up with is " pointy" lol :)

I post pictures from a host sight like fliker or photo bucket. There are threads on how to post pictures

Hi guys , sorry for the f$&@ around ! I posted the photos on blade forums Facebook page ( I think ) if anyone can be bothered to have a look , i thank you for your patience ! Cheers :)

It would be awesome if you did mate , if you go on the Facebook page you have to click on posted on page. I believe , I leave thailand in a few days and won't be back for months. If... (and I know it's tough from the photos) the consensus is good , I will go down and have a talk to the guy and get some better photos for you . thanks for taking the time ! cheers :). Thank you kind sir , I'm not exactly sure what type of witchcraft you practice or superpowers you have , but you have most certainly done your good deed for the day . :)

Apparently the blade is Thai nam phi steel , which explains the slight blueish tinge to it ( thanks google ) . I am wondering why the bit where the handle joins the blade is bronze ( I think ) and the piece at the end is something different any guesses. ?

It doesn't appear to be anything particularly special, but it isn't the worst example I've seen either.

It is a tourista grade Thai dharb/darb/dha. It is probably somewhat sound and functional but I wouldn't spend a lot for it, even if from 25 years ago. These are quite common on the market.

Cheers
