Have had one of these for a year or so. Borrowed the pictures from other forums. It is a neat piece of kit. If anyone has any thoughts about picking one up, I would highly recommend them. Super light and very handy. When hiking I keep it in my water bladder compartment. Purcell Trench Grill.

A picture I borrowed from one of the Kifaru website guys putting his to use. I don't have any pictures of mine. Have used it half dozen times or so. Man is it handy.

nice. i've been eye'ng them for awhile too. only thing holding me back is the smaller ones have a taper to it for some reason (not a perfect rectangular) except for the larger voyager model which is way bigger than i want...my ocd just won't let me get past it, haha.

I think that is to accommodate different sized pots. You can slide them down till they fit correctly (not sure though).

What's the weight on that thing? I ask because I've packed in a $10 circular stainless grill from Lowe's a plenty of time. It's a lil' heavy for my likin' but I like big hunks of charred mammal flesh first night in camp. If that's light enough & cheap enough, it'd be a nice alternative.

You know, as much as I like my trench grill, never even thought of that....

Keep us informed with what you come up with! I never even thought of cuttin' I down. I just strapped the whole thing to the back face of my pack.

I have the small one that is not the same with on the ends. But can not find my pictures.
Got the flu today .Maybe I can find them later.

O.K. I got over the flu. So I pulled the Purcell grill out . It is 1/2 " smaller on one end. But it works well with my Trangia burner.
This is a meal that Bushman 5 did on another forum. Spam and corn . Not bad.
