So it's a fixed blade, but has a pivot like a folder? Especially with a defensive fixed blade, being fixed is one of the advantages of a fixed blade.

Looking at the handle, I have to wonder whether this will be comfortable in my hand (in either position). I'm also not sold on what looks to be a combination edge taken to the extreme.

I guess an important question here is who would be using it and why. I mean, if this really answers a pressing question for someone, I'd love to read about it. In the meantime, I've got to rate this one "tacticool".

I didn't like it the first couple of times I looked at it. Not sure what the button lock is all about, kinda want to see how it works. I have an old Parker knife that's a fairly standard looking older-folder, but with a double edge. It only folds halfway, tho, and becomes a push-dagger. Regardless, I can see the point of having two completely different blades in one handle, without having to close one. I'm kind of liking it. A little.

Maybe the Civivi folds roughly a quarter, and takes on the role of a weapon retention type knife, like the Kabar TDI, for police use?

Certainly bordering on tacticool, at least until I get one in hand, and see its potential. Or not.
