Just sharing an idea I had. Wanted to get a knife that was the same age as me. Being fond of the buck 110 I went that route. Got ahold of a 1974 buck 110. Then went shopping for a sheath. Decided to make my own and this is my first shot at it. Not perfect or pretty, but I don't care about that. It holds knife extremely well and has quick access. Three Chicago screws and a small amount of sewing on backside.

I think it's very cool, and have toyed with the idea and searched, just never pulled the trigger. I'm particularly fond of birth year watches as well. So far I have two Omegas, a Seiko, and a few Timex watches from 1976.

At some point I may do this with my truck as well. I'm not into buying a 100k truck. My thought would be to get a birth year truck, put all the good stuff in it like fuel injection and A/C. I'm just not crazy about how they crash. A fella could get hurt.

I'm right with ya there too. I want a dentside Ford pretty bad actually. I'd keep another vehicle for distances though, and just mainly use it for driving around my small town and hauling wood.

Go for it!

[Except the crash part though!]

Your one step ahead of me! I need the small town too!

That’s damn cool! You did a great job. I’m of the same vintage.

Thats a great job you did on that sheath! Leatherwork is definitely as much an artform as a skill!

How can you tell what year it was made? Do they have serial numbers on them somewhere?
Different years have Different stamps in the blade by the 110 mark. Also the fella I bought it from told me the year he purchased it. The steel they used back then was also a bit different.

fer fun

They don't have one for my birth year.

Cool idea, and if you like it and actually use it, you have just enjoyed your hobby. How many of us are collecting, but forget to enjoy what we got and just the fun of using them. I digress, I was 1967 so I am on my way to curmudgeon status, I saw someone walking a dog and I watched to make sure they picked up the poop out of my yard. 😀
