First of all I would like to tell everyone how handy it is to carry a fixed blade knife on duty. I have always carried a good pocketknife, but I would have never dared doing some of the things I have done with my meaner. I also wanted to thank David E he took the time to listen to me and make a really cool sheath for it for my duty belt, which is no small task.
2 Weeks ago during the ice storm we had here in the midwest, about 2 in the morning I found a Ford explorer overturned in a ditch. There was a lady trapped inside the truck and she had bee sitting there for quite some time. Myself and another officer went to the front under the vehicle and I used my meaner to cut the winshield out of the truck. I was very impressed with how well the knife held up and the fire department was disappointed that they did not get to save the day. After cutting all four sides of the windshield it was still sharp enough to cut a seatbelt. It looks pretty rough right now, I am gonna try for the first time to post pics so here goes.
