Writer turned knife maker Joel Bukiewicz of Cut Brooklyn talks about the human element of craft, and the potential for a skill to mature into an art. And in sharing his story, he alights on the real meaning of handmade—a movement whose riches are measured in people, not cash.

This video is really making its rounds through the Interwebs today. I didn't watch it until just a few minutes ago and now I see why... it's more than about knifemaking, Bukiewicz, and craftsmanship--it's also about doing what you love for a living, and it seems to be touching lots of people I know who are bored with their jobs, me included. This guy is real lucky.

Awesome video:cool::thumbup: I really like from 6:20 - 6:50 he talkes about sacraficing time and money to make their dreams come true:cool::thumbup: That is some heavy stuff there, Thanks for posting the video.:)

Thanks for sharing that video. He absolutely nailed what it means to make knives. The guy who taught me the fundamentals and who I still look to to answer my questions said to me up front that you don't get rich being a knife maker (unless you're some crazy genius like Jerry Busse:D). You do it for the pure love of making knives. The cool part of the video for me is that they managed to show almost every part of the knife making process during the interview.
