Thought you guys might be interested in this. Just got it in the mail yesterday in time for my birthday. It's a pretty cool piece made by copper cutlery. Seems they've had a little bit of a rocky start with some of their lines but this was only like 30-40 bucks so I said what the heck and took a shot. Has an oddly shaped concave blade but it came pretty sharp.

Had not seen this one before now. I like it! What's that blade length, about 4"?

With aluminum handle and stainless blade, the only parts susceptible to corrosion and rust will be the pivot and the backspring, I guess. Or are they stainless, too?

Good questions I'll have to find the site and take a look.

Not sure on the pivot but the spring is stainless as well.

Aluminum is absolutely susceptible to corrosion. Salt can do a considerable amount of damage in fact. Combine steel and aluminum and you get a galvanic reaction that will eat both away. Salt is a good electrolyte, and if left uncleaned after exposure it won't take long for the pivot to lock up. Stainless does not mean rust free, it means the steel has some measure of resistance to corrosion.

True, true! I was looking at it from my own use of aluminum tools and materials and the rust-free life my stainless blades and firearms and so forth have experienced. Rust and corrosion do occur on these tools, just not mine after a long time using them in various climates. I suppose the phrase "as susceptible" would have headed off the perceived mistake.

Been meaning to post this one. Pick the Big Chief up during a Labor Day promotion, so was relatively inexpensive. It’s a big light barlow with a half stop and a fairly solid snap opening and closing. Blade is fairly well centered with a substantial recurve that I’m not a fan of. The cutting edge exhibits a bevel, but is dull, can easily run your finger along the edge with no fear of cutting yourself. The tube does indicate that it’s made in the USA with domestic and imported materials. For the price there’s not much to complain about. I think it’s kind of neat for what it is, wife says it’s damn ugly 😂
