Hi, recently ive been thinking about buying a new grinder, and for now i have settled on the coote,
but i just want to know if it will accept belts a little longer than 72" say 80"?
Why i ask is because it is alot easier to get 80" norton belts in denmark than it is to get 72"

Thanks

I dont believe it will. I have a Coote and although I can change from a 10 to a 6" wheel and raise the back to accept the belts, I don't think the adjustment is set up to take an 80".

Mine has enough overlap of the upright frame pieces where they bolt together, that one could drill a new bolt hole and extend the upper piece, possibly far enough to accept an 80" belt. Norm might even be able to make you a longer frame piece, he can do some customizations on the machine when you order it. Come to think of it, the frame is probably longer/taller with a 6" contact wheel than with a 10", to account for the smaller wheel. A 10" unit with the upper frame piece from a 6" might get you there.

Justin beat me to it... The way the Coote is constructed, it seems like you could have an extension fabricated quite easily. Norm is a great guy to deal with, and I think if you talk it over with him, he'll steer you in the right direction.
