I'm putting together some info on grinders for a friend and am trying to get a comprehensive ideal of what's available out there. The only grinder I know of that I've come up blank on is the Coote. Anybody out there know where I could come up with some info, a web page or a pic?

I've also heard several rumors that burr king is bringing the 960 back. Anybody have any confirmation on that?

James

I've had my Coote for about 6 months. It worked out of the box with no tracking problems. It comes with an 8" wheel and platten. I've heard that Mr. Coote is offering a 10" wheel, but still no smaller grinding wheels.

Got a Coote last year, 10" wheel, and 15/16" small wheel attachment (IIRC)were extra.
It's a solid, no frills grinder.
I ordered mine with a longer shaft for a stacked sheave, and am running it off of a 5hp motor. Works GR8!

Coote runs a very small add in either Blade or Knives Illustrated. Look in the ad index and you will find the small photo.

I have had a Coote 2 x 72, 10" wheel. Use a 1 hp motor. It is good and reliable but no where as smooth as a Bader. I use mine to do the hogging out to 220 grit, then i go with hand sanding.

Matt.

I just checked both Blade and Knives Illustrated... couldn't find Coote in the index. Anyone got a pic and more info on this grinder? Cost?
