Question -I have a copilot model - which appears to have brass spacers between the scales and blade, the blade is fine edge, and not marked as to type of steel.... My first copilot which my son has -was fully serriated and didn;t have the brass spacers... Am I dealing with two different vintages of the same model? and what type of steel would be in that fine edged version?
I've tried to attach a picture but not having any luck.
Peace

The very early Copilots had brass liners. It is considered the same model (same SKU), just a different year. Most of the Spyderco knives with no steel marking were GIN-1/G-2 (two names for the same steel), although AUS-8 was used when there were supply problems with the GIN-1.
