A large Wharncliffe and my Copperhead skinner. The Wharnie is ground out of 1/8 inch S-30V and the Skinner is from 3/32 inch CPM154CM. Both have 5 inch blades(tip to bolster). Copper trim and some nice quarter sawn white oak from last year's firewood pile. Need sheaths and sharpened(after the sheaths are made).

I really like the wharnie.
While the copper looks a little bright right now, it will look really cool after it develops a patina.
Nice clean knife.

That oak is good looking for humble firewood. I like the skinner a lot. The flat ground in that curve combined with the straight back I don't see often.

I presume not, but is the copper coated in any way? The clear shine of copper really captures the eye.

I'm one of those who like the way copper turns colors as it patinas. 'Way back when I took metal shop in High School, we used to coat the copper with shellac. I'm assuming there's other and more durable stuff out there, but I've been using mainly copper for several years and no one's asked. It's easy enough to keep shiny with Brasso or Flitz or some such, like brass, if someone prefers it that way.

Those are some beauties Joel.
I'm with you on the tarnished/patina'd copper... it has character.
