i made a bracelet for my girl for Christmas. it didnt turn out quite like i wanted.. it was very.. sloppy looking.
Well.. the girl i made it for loved it.. but i wanted to try it again.

All of yall helped so much in showing me how to make it better. well.. here are the results.
the bracelet is copper again, but i annealed it this time and tapered it a bit to make it lighter.
also, i made a real graver using an old HSS cut-off bar.
The lines i used a chemical blacking and then polished the flat.
also.. the other braceet was polished using and electric buffer.. this one was hand rubbed to 2500
i am going to kote it, but the Kote hasnt gotten here yet.

critique and comments are greatly appreciated!

Dan beat me to it! So, Chris, is there anything you can't do with metal?

Ed

PS. I wouldn't Kote the bracelet because I love the patina copper gets as it ages.

Holy cow that is one thick bracelet. Very nice. You should sell those. I'd buy one for sure.....but for myself!!!!

Me thinks that the man is not only talented, but in love! A good woman is to be cherished!

Wow Chris, thats real neat. I like how you did the lettering, its very stylized. What a great idea, uses that NASA copper nicely. (its NASA, right?)
Im sure that your going to get some orders from her friends :)

hey!
thanks yall! this is alot of fun really.. the copper was much nicer to work with when it was annealed.

the tool i used worked great and i did several passes, and cleaned it up with a file as well as a #5 ollette (sp?) graver i bought.. but didnt like to use.

i am gonna ask Grace if she wants it shiny or not.. but i have a feeling she will want it shiny. the other one will get tarnished looking. as for thickness.. it started as like 1/8" thick copper i foudn in a dumpster at NASA.. i tapered it out some.. (i did think about making a few more...

A good woman is INDEED a thing to cherish.. and i think i have found one... my first (and only) girl. and she loves the braclet.. *grins* already gotten some hints from the other girls that they wouldnt mind one themselves...

thanks so much for the wonderful encouragement.. very nice after i kinda bad evening.
thanks again
~Chris

The letters are great. They look like they're dancing. Did you work out the font yourself?

Any chance I could get a link to the first one? This one is amazing, so I want to see its progenitor.
