Had not checked the site out for awhile...
... of the 45 listed exclusives, 36 are out of stock ...

Seems like there was some talk awhile ago about Buck dropping SFO's
Is this the result of that?

My understanding is that for now at least Buck has stopped making special orders which Copper & Clad kind of specialized in. Hopefully Buck can get things figured out soon. It was always great to see their exclusive line of Buck knives.

C&C has eBay and Amazon stores...I think I've seen comments that sometimes items will show out of stock at one, but available at another; so it's worth checking, or dropping them a line.

Roger that... I've seen it where C&C has it out of stock on their own website, but have the same knife listed on Ebay, or out of stock on Amazon and available on C&C and ebay.

I suspect C&C earmarks a certain quantity of a given knife for Amazon, ebay and C&C sales, and when they sell out on one, the other selling portals can still have them available.

But I think what we're seeing on the C&C website is the inability of them being able to refresh stock, from Buck not having the dealer exclusive program anymore.

Last month I sent them an email and asked. Their response dated 2/21/21:

"Mike, Buck is actually not producing any of our exclusives currently due to labor shortages. We are hopeful things open up as we proceed further into the year. Thanks, C&C"

they also added a spyderco line of products now. I guess to fill the sales holes...or they're just expanding maybe...who knows....

Yup. Recently bought a 532 from C&C on Amazon, even though it was "sold out" on their website. The price on Amazon was slightly higher, as well -- but, that may be because they were down to their last few. Glad I picked up the 532 while the gettin' was good. :)

Concerning Copper & Clad (who I have bought several nice Buck Knives from) - somewhere I got the idea that they are a division of Shepherd Hills Cutlery. Is that the case or am I mistaken? OH

I've heard that myself.

pretty sure you are correct, Sir.

I was just at the SH outlet in Osage Beach, MO and noticed they had some of the same knives that C&C has. Surprised me, and I had heard there was a relationship between SH and C&C, so I asked the lady. She knew who C&C was - she was quite knowledgeable about the knives they carry. I enjoyed talking to her. Too bad she was married :( but I digress - anyway, she told me there was no relationship between them. FWIW.

I bought an Amber Stag 110 from C&C through Amazon. It was cheaper than it was on their web site. When it arrived it was ugly, so I suspect they were selling the ugly ducklings for a discount through Amazon. I thought about returning it, but it feels good in hand so I kept it. B

Ive bought a ton of knives from C&C. No complaints from me. I sure hope Buck gets straightened out. SKBlades is another one in the same boat.

I had the same experience with a 632 with the indigo blue scales and nickel/stainless bolsters, it was absolutely horrible in fit and finish... I couldn't believe that Buck would have let something like that out of the factory.

I returned it to Amazon and repurchased from ebay, as C&C had it listed as "sold out. The knife from ebay wasn't perfect, but it was a whole lot better than the POS from Amazon.

I've purchased a lot of knives dirctly from C&C, and they've all been flawless... the 632 was the first non direct C&C purchase I made... so I like you, I have to wonder as well.
