Copper pins/thong hole tubing

OK, I have copper thin enough for spacers and thick enough for guards. I have some pin stock(3/32 or 1/8, can't remember). But I would like place to get thong hole tubing and thicker(7/16-1/4" size, or in that area, good thicker pin stock) pin stock.

I had one idea on the thong hole tubing, but wanted to run it by y'all first. Ace Hardware has a 50' box of 1/4" copper tubing for refrigeration stuff that's only $20. I figured that'd probably work for thong hole tubing, but as I said, figured i"d ask first.

Sure, that'd work. The local hobby store also has copper tubing in 1 ft lengths for less than a dollar, depending whether that would be convenient for you.

Yep, just like Dave said. I put copper on ever knife I create. It takes on a patina that you can not beat.

Didn't think of that part, but that's a good point PLace. Guessing the refrigerator tubing will be too thin of a wall.

OK, so I'm open to suggestions too. :)

ANd yes George, I love the look of copper too, only used it in one of my knives so far(course, only made about 4),b ut plan on using it more. Course, now that I think of it, though I know I've used it, and pin stock has obviously had something cut off of it, have NO idea what knife it might have been. :)

How about 4 or 6 guage copper electrical wire? I remember seeing a knive years ago that had twisted copper wire for pins. The glue sure had plenty of places to adhere :)

Small Parts, Inc sells alot of small tubing.

I feel like such a bum. When I go to the dump there are always lots of things that have copper tube in them. I keep a pair of snips in the jeep and cut them out for use. Get all kinds of sizes and never pay for them.

Wire works very well for pins.I have in my collection an 1800's era knife with pot iron scales pinned with what looks like 10 ga copper wire. I'm sure it was a larger piece of something swaged down to that size because I doubt they had wire then but the point is that it has held very well all these years.
