Hey guys I need some help. I have been looking for a Single blade Copperhead in Carbon Steel and just can't find one. Anyone know where or if a knife like this exits?
Thank you.

The one I have is a Case Copperlock. Not currently cataloged, I had to search Ebay to find mine. Wharncliffe blade, CV steel (basically 1095CV). It's a good knife. Boker might have one, but I don't really know.

Besides checking the 'net, you may want to post in the "Knives Wanted" section here on bladeforums.

Plain old 1095 high carbon, or any carbon steel?

Queen makes one in D2.

Yea I know about the Queen in D2, I was just looking for a single blade copperhead in Carbon Steel. I see the two bladed knives, but I sure would like the single blade. Thanks for your help so far guys.

What's wrong with D2? The Queen knife is awesome in my book:

Well nothing wrong with it. It is a good knife I agree with you. I was just looking for 1095 and I can't seem to find one.

If you're willing to risk an imperfect job or me accidentally killing your knife. Buy a carbon steel Boker Copperhead (affordable) and I'll take it apart, remove one of the blades, springs and liner and pin it all back together. All you have to do is pay for the shipping back and forth and the cost of the pins ($2 or so). Contact me if your interested and not in an extreme hurry.

If it makes you feel any better here's my first attempt at rebuilding a production knife. It started out as a Steel Warrior Trapper with brown jigged bone and brass liners. I made new thicker liners in nickel silver, new thicker bolsters, nickel silver pins, nickel silver shield and green micarta scales.

I own a Case model called a "slimline trapper" that looks much like what I imagine a single-blade copperhead would look like. It looks like the Queen pictured above, anyhow, except is has yellow composite handle. It does have a CV blade, however, and it cost less than $35 shipped.

I think the slimline trapper also comes in at least one bone handled style (red jigged).

Sent you an email.. Thank you so much

Jim,
Here's a stock photo of what the knife you sent me looked like before I took it apart.

Here's the modified knife. Hope it's what you were looking for. I removed the 2nd blade and middle liner then pinned the knife back together again. I added the deep flutes to the bolsters and hand polished everything with 220, 320, 400, 600, 1500 and 2000 grit sandpaper then a bit of Flitz polish. The blade was asking for a shaving sharp edge and pointy tip so..... be careful she's sharp!

Enjoy!

That looks great to me! If the price was right I would want one for myself!

When this thread started I took apart a RR Barlow and did the same thing, removed the small blade and spring, polished the brass liners and spring. All was well until I gave it a bit too much squish on one pin cracking the bone scale. Oh well it was fun and the knife is a bench tool now.
