My Copperhead series have synthetic guards to save weight. This is my "Brown Boot" one with a 4inch O-1 carbon blade, with a Tigerstripe "Camo-etch" finish. Black canvas Micarta double guard, brown linen Micarta handles mortised and mated with invisible seams, NS fittings, dot-jigged by hand for added grip. I made 3 similar ones which all have gone (priority) to Armed Forces folk. This one I've been experimenting on sheath concepts and have already chucked 3 so for. Will end up being a simple traditional snap-retention scabbard, most probably.

Comments welcomed and appreciated. Cheers.

I like the Firestorm better, but this one has the same great lines. Do you make all of this model with Micarta guards?

Copperheads are these type of Bowie or Boot-knife inspired knives from 4-6inch blades, working patterns. The Copperheads have Micarta guards while the same type knives with brass, NS or SS guards (ie.- shiny bits) are called Equalisers. Even if the pattern is the same, the look turns out different and the weight savings is considerable. Canvas or linen Micarta is also really stronger than most would care about, is corrosion resistant, "warm" to the touch and of course is "low register" as one of my friends put it. I've sold quite a few of these to military folk. Micarta weighs about 1/3 that of brass or NS and the balance in the knife is affected noticably when picked up.

Cheers, Keith.

That knife definitely sets itself apart from the crowd, Jason, and it does so with style and grace. I like it. I like it a lot.
