Im liking that Walnut...but those bolsters on the Stag do not appeal...they look...what's the word? ...oriental...and yes maybe the style harks back to earlier times but I dont like em ..there I've said it.
I think it's been an underrated pattern actually. I'm biased as I'm not really a fan of same end Jacks with both blades being large, but it certainly has advantages over the Trapper. Concealed tangs make pocket carry ideal, better appearance and in hand feel, and Drop-Point/Skinner better than giant Spey.
Böker do this pattern very well and formerly they were inexpensive but quality items. I'm with meako
about those scalloped bolsters though...not keen on engraved bolsters either but various tastes are what makes knife collecting interesting . Enjoy your new knives
When the skinner's nail nick isn't placed too far forward they make for a nice blade mod. I never cared for a knife with two blades having the same edge profile.
