I have recently seen the term "Copperhead" referring to a blade shape. I was under the impression this was a spey blade and copperhead was a knife pattern. If there has been a change or I was misinformed, I would love to find out. Thanks for any info.
That is a Spey blade on the Barlow. GEC also came out with a bone coloring called copperhead. And to muddy the waters even more, as you posted above, Case makes a copperhead pattern knife. The term copperhead is not referring to the blade style though.
And just to further muddy things up, Case's copperhead is different than other copperheads, although they always seem to refer to the peaked copperhead bolster.
Here is the more common variety, a 3¾" two-blade, also used by Queen, Rough Rider, and this one by Kissing Cranes.
And this is a Seki Japan version called a One Arm Copperhead, at 3½" closed.
Case also makes a Copperlock in two sizes, both of which have the same peaked bolster, but with a lockback design.
Copperhead usually refers to the bolster shape. GEC has also used the word "Copperhead" to describe a color of jigged bone.

I also own a Case Copperhead that has a main clip and a secondary full-length spey. A weird combo since those blades are commonly found on a Trapper pattern Don't have any pics of that one, sorry. It is a 0200 CV, apparently an SFO from the late 1990s.
