Copyright?

Can anyone tell me if steel names - Elmax, Cru Wear, INFI, CPM S30V, Super Blue, etc, etc - are copyrighted? Is it ok to use those steel names in promotional material (i.e., ads, t-shirts, etc) or are they owned? How about older, more 'common' steel names - 440c, 154cm, VG10, Aus8?
