Was able to get my hands on a Old Corandum 109 sharpener. Was in a old orange and white box and has two sides to it about 6-8" and 2inches thick and in width. One side is coarse and the other is real fine.
How will I know to use the fine grit side? Sharpening AUS8 steel and would like any advice that ya'll could supply. Anybody know anything about this type of sharperner?
Thanks.

The coarse side is for reshaping and for leaving a very rough edge for slicing. The fine side gives a better push cutting ability for finer work. You switch to the fine side when the rough edge is fully formed and sharp, it should slice newsprint readily and possibly push cut it roughly if you hone very well.
