Hi does anyone have contact info for Corbet Sigman.Does he still make knives?.The old phone number I found is no longer in use.Appreciate any help, thanks.

Sorry to say, he was a fine maker, and a fine gentleman.

Gentlemen, thank you for the info on Corbet Sigman. That is sad news.I had talked to him a few times.Always soft spoken.Very fine knifemaker,His knives ,the ones, I had handled, were very clean in construction. He put a very very sharp edge on them.

Corbet Sigman was just about the nicest guy I ever talked to on the phone. No jokes. It saddened me deeply, the day I learned of his passing. :(

I will always cherish the knives he made for me, and will hang onto the ones I still have.

Raj, I hope to see you in Tulsa. I'll bring my Sigmans, for a little show and tell.

Dan,looking forward to Tulsa.Do bring the Sigmans'.I always enjoy the show and tell with you.You always bring a fine collection of knives.Maybe I can prise a Sigman out of your grasp.

I'm probably somewhat biased but i consider Corbet's work to be at the top of the knife makers trade. His fit, finish and technical knowledge of knife making are matched by relatively few makers IMO.

All his work was sole authorship and diverse. He did both forged and stock removal knives. He made any style of knife from his entry level working hunters, interframe folders, too the highest end art knives.

Corbets work makes up the largest portion of my collection, and all my dealings an conversations over the years had been by telephone. But i decided to pick up my last knife order from him in person. I was fortunate to spend a Saturday visiting him at his home and shop just three weeks prior to his death. It's a day i'll always remember and cherish.

Sleyer, thanks for the info on Mr Sigman.I did not realize he forged blades.Always thought he was a stock removal style of knifemaker. It must have been great visiting with someone like him.Would appreciate if you could post pictures of some of his fancier knives in your collection.
