i first thought you could only cord grip bare tang knives with holes. but i saw a pic and some dinky instrictions on the internet. and was wondering if i could cord grip my seal pup. if i can how long should i cut the cord and what do i do?

it depends what you want. Go to striders web site. you can take the innards out of the paracord to make it thinner. wich you'd probably want to do scince to allready have a handle. there are many ways to wrap.http://www.themartialist.com/pecom/koppowrap.htm. do that then cut the loop off works nicely/ or do the strider way. and there are mlots of others too.

I have nothing to offer regarding fancy wraps.

For utility - hard and grippy - I like nylon starter cord, available by-the-foot from rolls at TrueValue hardware stores. It's characteristics:
- Doesn't stretch.
- Doesn't compress.
- Not slippery.

Simplest tie is the 'whipping knot': http://www.answers.com/topic/common-whipping

Tie it with hard tension, pull the ends tight and trim close. To remove, you'll have to cut it off.

Hope this helps!

yeah you can do it, i cord wrapped my sog seal 2000, mainly just go to strider's site and look at their how to re-wrap faq.

You could always grind the plastic handle off the Pup and wrap it then. That is, as long as the steel under the handle has the required holes in it. Go to the Strider web site to see what I mean. Then wrap away. When you're done wrapping the handle, soak the cord in SuperGlue, (you can buy SuperGlue in larger bottles for this) and it will harden and make the cord grip easier to grip. I have a couple of Strider fixed blades, one of which is wrapped. I rewrapped it myself and it's been to the desert and back with no problems.
