Cord Wrap: Question about Heat Treat on Izula

It's my understanding that the whole knife receives the same heat treatment (as indicated on the official RAT Cutlery/ESEE website).

Now, I'm almost sure this is a stupid/paranoid question, but would using a butane lighter to melt/singe paracord in a cord wrap have any adverse effect on the handle of the Izula?

I wouldn't think it would get the steel anywhere near hot enough, but I thought I'd double check, mostly out of curiosity.

(My general understanding is that if it's not hot enough to burn you or at least hurt, it isn't hot enough to mess things up)...

Thanks

Absolutely not. A BIC lighter would get so hot that it would explode in your hand before it bothered the heat treatment in the blade. I don't even know, theoretically, if there is enough butane in one to heat the knife up to that degree.

Thank you very much. I was just about certain I was being compulsively absurd :o
