Cordura backpack recommendations?

Looking for a Cordura backpack, preferably made in the USA. Just for use in the office, gym, weekend trips. Not a end of the world the zombies are coming; or we need to bug out type bag. Definitely will not be a bug out/ bug in bag. But will need some type of storage place in front or on the sides to accommodate muti-use. Currently have a Camelbak BFM; it's a tad to big for everyday usage and is more geared towards a 3 day pack. And a North Face Jester is a good size just needs some more storage/ organization.

Prefer cordura; as past usage proves it's a tough sob. So any recommendations or brands to look at for a general use backpack?

Maxpedition, Camelbak, TT, Eagle, Specops are all good.

The Maxpedition H.A.W.G. Miltac is a great do it all backpack. It's just the right size, not too small, not too big, and is nice and durable. The side straps allow you to cinch the pack down when underloaded so it does not flop around too much, and you can still access the zippers from the top. It's the best smallish all around backpack I've seen.

If you want a little bit bigger, SpecOps THE Pack has a similar layout, and is a big bigger but significantly heavier duty.

Check out the offering from Osprey, Kelty and Mountainsmith in that size range (North Face Jester - 1648cu.) for an everyday non-apocalyptic/tactical type day pack. I have found those to offer a pretty good bang for the buck. My dedicated gym pack is currently a Mountainsmith and it has served me well. Most of the modern style day packs in that size lack external pockets which can enhance storage & organization but the Kelty Redwing 32 (1900cu.) has external pockets and if you don't mind a more retro rucksack styling check out the Kelty Mockingbird

My Molle style pack in that size range that I have come across is the Engage model made by Protech Tactical/SDS. They were closing them out a several years back but I still see them pop up on that popular auction site frequently and they may still be available elsewhere. The Engage is 1800cu. and compared to the Maxpedition Condor and the 5.11 Rush 24 in the same size range I found the Engage offered better comfort, load adjustability and quality at a lower cost.

I have the 5.11 Rush 24. It is awesome. I use it as a GHB and general 1-2 day backpacking bag. Plenty of room, plenty o' pockets, and make of 1000 Denier Cordura, so pretty durable. Only downside is sometimes I wish it came with a factory waistbelt for it- but I fixed that by purchasing a knockoff Brokos belt on the auction site for $20, and running a pistol belt through it when I am using it for hiking.

+1. I have two 24's and 2 48's for all kind of uses including travel, work lunch bag and get-home bag. Love them. Lots of pockets, capacity and comfy.

SVT- do you mean the 72, not the 48? I wasn't aware, and google didn't turn up a 48.

I had a 72, and it was an awesome bigger version of the 24, but I hated it hiking when I had 40lbs of crap in it hiking the Appalachian Trail. IMHO, the 24 is the biggest you want to go stuffing a pack, without an internal frame structure, and after my experiences with the 72, think its a lil ricockulous they don't have any frame in it, and would not recommend the 72 to anyone.
