Cordura sheaths

What weight cordura would I use to make a knife sheath?
Also, should I line the inside of the sheath with maybe a piece of kydex to stop it from curling?I understand it wont curl if the blade is in it,but what happens to the sheath when the blade is out for long periods of time in the elements ?

I made a Cordura Sheath for my uncles hunting knife. I used kydex in between the layers for strength. I kinda took the Cordura material, folded it over the kydex, and with the other end of the same piece of Cordura, did the same thing and sewed the kydex in, so the kydex was kinda like in a pouch of Cordura. then I sewed both of the sides together and sewed vinyl coated nylon over the seams and put a belt loop on.
