Anybody has any idea what is corelon. Searched on Google and plenty of results, thousands of knives with corelon handles. It looks good but i couldnt understand what is it, properties of the material is unknown to me. Google searches didnt come up with a useful info, - just handles and knives i think...

Corian is just a brand name from DuPont,
I'd say it may be the same stuff just a new name from another company.. just a gess though.

No it is not. If you seach you will see. ie. http://www.ndsproducts.com/HR-343SSTARCR.jpg

that is a picture not a list of compound materials
I'm not sure how you can be adamant in saying, it is not?

Corian comes in many different designs I'm sure they could do that also?
if they had a mind to.

as far as my searching went
it was just a guess as I said  just an opinon.

it's evil new twin :D :D
I have some celluloid that had warped up on two case knives that were sent to me to rehandle in Ivory. much better now :D

I've seen some guy on eBay who is rehandling Case knives with this stuff. Why? Just to be different I guess.

Thanks good men, keeping the young bladesmiths away from evil. Your light makes our way clear from darkness...

I bought some corian scales for kitchen knives, i thought corelon would be an alternative (for it's valued much too high for my purse). Thanks for info....

I did some research on celluloid material. It deteriates bad over time. There is a website somewhere thats shows old knives from the 20's and 30's where the material has deteriated to a great extent.

Yes, and not only that, it off gases the acid used in it's manufacture, and will corrode anything metal in the area, like knives in a display case with it, drawer etc.
