How To Cork Polishing Belt

Is it a requirement that polishing belts are kept for each colour of polish or can they be mixed and matched on the same belt.
I have brown, red, green and white blocks

It is best not to mix polish on belts or buffing wheels. Each grit type/color needs its own belt/buff.
