Hi All
Has anybody ever used cork scales on a full tang knife. It is used for flooring so it must be durable enough, It would be waterproof. I see some coloured cork out there and I though it would make a nice touch with cork or a cork wood combo. Am I missing something here?? Would it be too light and put the blade off balance?
Cheers Ron.

i prefer birch bark, but any wood stacked and processed works and feels like solid wood when finished. picture of stacked birch bark and birch burl.

I was just at a place that sells the cork flooring the other day. It's some really beautiful stuff. It has a hard green backing on it that would probably look pretty good and might even take a decent color by dyeing. Seems like it would be a nice option for fishing knives especially.

here's the website for the flooring folks
