So who here has some corny knives and by corny I mean for example like the cheap hollow handle knives or just goofy other knives [not fantasy please I dont care about those] I have a couple but cant share pics cause I dont have a way to upload them but the ones I have that I can think of are 3 cheap hollow handle knives and a cheapo otf switchblade that is made of crappy blue plastic says SUPER-AUTOMATIC on the handle and says secret agent on the blade.

So what do you got thats corny, cheap, worthless, or just plain corny? Pics are welcome[ sorry I dont have any]

Corny, worthless knives?

Here's one. Gerber Armor.

Don't let it's looks fool you. I had the opportunity to check one out at a local sporting goods shop. It's made in China of some unknown mystery steel and whimpy thin liners. The worst part is Gerber has the guts to call it a "tactical" folder. How thin are the liners? Let me put it to you this way. Remember the Schrade Cliphanger? If you value your fingers, stay away from this knife.

Other worthless knives? Anything bearing the name Master Cutlery, Fury, Maxam and 99% of the rubbish found in the BudK catalogue.

I just bought my wife this as a gag gift:

RR504.jpg

Rough Rider™ Large Ledy Leg with Imitation Tortoiseshell Celluloid Handle

It claims to be 440 steel (440A, I'm assuming). Fit and finish is great. $9. And the neat thing is that the boot acts as a pretty darn good bottle opener. Came pretty darn sharp too.

Cheap? Yes
Corny? Doesn't get any cornier.
Worthless? Nope - it's actually a decent knife with a bottle opener.

2 out of 3 ain't bad.

My wife loves it, by the way. She has a thing for corny leopard print (fuzzy slippers, kitchen broom - weird stuff like that) and the tortoise shell looks just like leopard.

Oh and here's a link to SMKW, since I stole their photo: http://www.eknifeworks.com/webapp/eCommerce/product.jsp?Mode=Brand&Brand=229&CatalogName=&PriceStart=&PriceEnd=&Feature=&SearchText=leg&Submit.x=0&Submit.y=0&list=50&range=1&order=Default&SKU=RR504

Does a "switchblade" that pops open as a comb count? No, I guess not ... :(

I'd say it does, Ed.........at least as much as my $5 gunshow plastic OTF!
I've probably cycled that thing well over 100 times and I'm amazed it hasn't failed yet!!

In Canadian Tire tonight, I saw a Winchester marked folding knife with cocobolo scale inserts that was obviously made by Maxam as I have an identical one new-in-box.

I was actually looking at Gerbers to see if they were made in China, but the writing must be written on the back of the pack and they were all in a locked cabinet.
