I'm planning on blueing a Martindale Golok with Brownells OxphoBlue. What are the correct steps to take to insure a professional looking job? Thanks in advance.

I've never used that one, but if it's a cold blue they are hard to get a good overall even finish.
One way I have done this, with another product is, clean it completely, wipe with acetone, then clean in HOT water and use something like 409. Don't touch it with bare hands after. Dry with a lint free cloth, and place in a preheated oven at 150-200 degrees F. Have your bluing solution poured into a PVC pipe that will take the item to be blued. When the item is hot, put it in the solution and leave it for 5 minutes or so. When you take it out, run hot water over it and scrub at the same time with a brush. You can repeat this as many times as it takes, usually no more than two. I did an old model 69 Winchester, that was pretty beat up on the outside. That was 8 years ago and it still looks fine. If it's not a cold blue solution.........then never mind.;) :D

I just received the machete. They dipped the whole blade in polyurethane. I guess I won't be blueing this blade...
