Correct Linerlock Tension?

Hey there!
I’ve been searching a few days now but cannot find any thread talking about it. All the threads talk about the liner position but my thoughts go around it’s tension.

I received an Extrema Ratio HF2 which is a fairly big knife for a linerlock construction.
After taking it apart for cleaning and lubrication I noticed that the tension of the liner is set very low. The liner engages in the first 25% of the ramp and after removing the blade it stays where it is and doesn’t move further.

A buddy has the same knife and we opened it up to double check this one too. The liner is bend to the exact same tension and even with the blade removed it’s not touching the opposite scale.

I always thought that the liner should touch the opposite scale when the blade is not installed, so it can put enough pressure on the tang when the knife is open.

But i also watched the Extrema Ratio Factory Tour on YouTube and there you can see how they bend the liners. It seems to be a steel construction where the liner-part gets laid into place and press from above just presses it into that cast. That explains why the tension on both of our knives is exactly the same.
There seems to be no human hand involved in setting the tension.

Please chime in and let me know your opinions about that! I’m about to give the liner a bit more bend to give it tension for further wear, but maybe ER had some specific thoughts when setting the tension that way?

Thanks and have a nice Christmas time
