Corrosion paper

I just noticed one knife I have, started getting a little green on the brass. Most knives in the sheaths, are in the plastic bag, or have the anti-corrosion paper. But not this one.
Is there any place that sells small amounts of Anti-corrosion paper? I found a 1X200 yard roll, but that's a little to much. Or will just storing in a plastic baggie while in the sheath be just as good?
I know some of you don't store in the sheath, but I like keeping things together.

Absolutely don't store it in the sheath. Also, plastic baggies will concentrate the lubricant volatiles and occasionally rot handle materials. Let a bit of air get at the knives and sheaths, IMO.

This may be a dumb question but how are new knives stored? Like the ones that may be sitting at a hardware store for years. You buy them from Ebay that may be NIB, that may be 30 years old.
Were they not meant to be sitting in a sheath for years as part of a dealers stock?
I want to keep these as mint as possible, so whatever I have to do to keep them this way, I will try to do.
So much to learn here.........

usually folding knives that come with a sheath are wrapped in paper before inserting them into the sheaths, fixed blade knives mostly get packaged seperate from the sheath.
corrosion paper does not come cheap, I have been looking for a somewhat manageable quantity myself.

As waynorth mentioned do not store your knives in the sheaths, the leather reacts with the steel, not so much with Stainless, but never with carbon steel blades

Try plain old wax paper.
Seems to work well. Cheap...
I dont store my sheaths anywhere the knives but have wrapped them in the stuff for shipping and short term storage. Seems to work ok.

Instructions for use come with the paper.

I keep my sheaths all seperate in another box. I like to get the knives all out occasionally and see them all together unobstructed and with blades out without having to take them all out of their sheaths. I keep them on a rubber drawer mat so they dont slide into each other when I move them. If I die tommorow my wife should be able to read the little string labels I purchased from the newsagent to couple them up correctly again with the knives. Im also going to number the knives and do and info sheet and put that with them.

Whats happened to Bob? Is he still around?

Bob W. the mudlogger from Raton New Mexico? I've missed his contributions. In fact there are a few absentees lately. Must be a busy time of the year. Maybe we need to post some contraversial issues. That seems to attact more posters. Usually Joel is good to get something interesting or thought provoking going.

Use my email and send me your address and I will send you a few sheets of paper.
