Try removing the humidity. Also, make sure your knife is completely dry before lubing.

ETA: Sorry I thought you were asking about preventing it. Treat it just like you would rust. Start with a wood scraper and work your way up to get it off the blade. Also make sure you lube the PB washers before you put them back on the knife.
Get some of those wood coffee stirrers from the coffee shop, I cut them to all kinds of different shapes, and scrape off the loose corrosion, then try a copper penny to get the rest. Follow with FLITZ to get all the copper and residue off.
