"Corrugated Bevel Technology" Still on AK47?

I'm not confident they'll make the corrugations. They look like something programmed into a CNC mill, so if they've never done it, I don't think they would for a single blade. I've never seen the corrugations on an AK47 before, but I could be wrong.

Convex grinds are probably by hand, however, and they've got enough hands to convex all the blades you want!

I'll wager Garth will be along shortly to give some info. :)

I suspect that a satin knife using the corrugated technology is first cnc'd then the satin treatment effectively removes the corrugations. I can see them through the coating on mine and they are very light, wouldn't take much to grind them off.

Necessary Disclaimer: My guess! Not fact! I dont have any knowledge of how they do their work. I have NO connection with BC.

The one i'm getting is combat grade. The only reason that this even occurred to me is that the original post by Jerry about the release of the AK said that it had "Corrugated Bevel Technology". It made me wonder if that was only on THAT run, or if it was a feature of the custom shop ones too.

It doesn't appear to be there on the satin ones, but i can't tell from any of the pictures whether it's there on the CG models

here is one that came from Blade a few years back that clearly does have it

I missed that :p maybe it is on the CGs but it's barely visible because of the coating.

There was a thread started by bm11 back in winter about wanting a satin finish on a CGFBM, which has those corrugations. Jerry said that they can't give them a satin or double-cut finish, but he can do a competition finish. My guess is it's because of the difficulty of polishing consistently within those tiny corrugations. Busse's satin scratches from the edge to spine (as opposed to pommel to point), and the corrugations being perpendicular to that direction makes it more difficult to sand.

I appreciate the input guys. I don't dislike the corrugations, and i don't actually CARE one way or the other. I just have this problem where i am SUPER curious about everything

it's an OCD thing :P

The CBT on the AK looks a lot more like tool marks that the CBT on a CGFBM that is probably 10 times deeper and more pronounced. The are straight also. The don't follow the contour of the edge.
