Corrugated bevels - who actually likes them?

It seems as though a lot of people don't like them or think they look stupid. Thoughts?
I think they look fine.

I dig'em. I can go either way. (and I am referring to the CBTs). ;)

I haven't really chopped enough to see what the difference in feel is between one with and with out. But I'll take Boss Hog's word on it as far as their purpose. Plus it just makes sense. Less surface area = less friction and less weight.

Plus my blades usually get smacked up pretty fast anyway so looks are not a concern. :)

I'd love to see or do some tests to see the actual difference the CBTs make.

The CGFBM with the bevels looks downright prehistoric !!!

The look of it doesn't bother me in the slightest. In fact I like the way they appear when the blade is polished.

I like them. Especially in the std blade width. They add a unique variance that speaks of the quality of engineering and manufacturing that makes American products (and Busse knives) stand out as the best. I bought several.

I like 'em. The CBT's on the Battle Missy are what actually drew me in to the Busse world. And it chops just fine, thankyouverymuch...

I obtained the FFBM first, and a few weeks later was able to score a CG w/ green linen mags...dont think I could part with either one of them!

I love the CBT. Busse should offer it as an option...more money for them from the collectors, and more choices for the consumer!

The weight savings from the corrugations make the CGFBM relatively nimble for it size.

Aesthetically, I think they are ugly! But I can't argue with what works.

Any idea how many grams lighter it is ?

I am sure there is a way to calculate the area where the INFI was removed for the CBTs and, given the density of INFI, figure out how much weight has been shed. We need OP here!

For me, the bigger plus is the reduced amount of friction.

I love them and wish all busses had them...I especially like them on the hellrazor.

They grew on me, orginally I was a tad disappointed to see the bevels compared to the oringinal pictures w/o them. Then the knife came....and you look it over and swing it around(carefully) and run your hands down the bevels. And ya think "this is a pretty bad @SS knife". So then ya go chop with it and delimb with it and the more ya use it the more used to the bevels ya get. I rather like them as not only do they work and think my FBM is a fantastic chopper but they set the knife apart...no other big knife I have has those. Anyone who doesnt know Busse or knives for that matter are interested in the bevels and they become an interesting conversation piece.

I would agree that having an option to have them or not on there would have been nice. However I gaurantee I would not have gotten them, and feel confident that given the choice many others would not have also, and would have missed out on how well they work(IMHO).

I'm going against the flow (one more time), I don't like them. I bought a FBM with the CBT. It lasted just long enough for me to find a FFBM without the bevels. It's a true hog of a blade, but I like the look way, way better. Wouldn't mind the bevels being an option, just hate them being standard.

How do you know? How do you quantify the "reduced amount of friction"?
