cosmetics question

i was thinking about making a bowie.the trick is i want to make it with a antler handle with a weird tine as part of the guard. heres some pics

i would cut the horn right above the tine to make a forged guard

tell me what you guys think. do you think it would look stupid?
 
How about doing that with a really rough forged looking blade? Kind of like a caveman Bowie!!
 
i thought about that and i didnt want it to look crappy.. but i will now!i wasnt sure if that would look good but i have the perfect peice of o-1 that would work. do you think i should carve it up? thanks for replying

Do you forge or S/R? if you forge just leave it in a pre grinded state.If all of the work is done on a grinder then you may have to get more creative (carbide bit in a dremel). I Look forward to seeing what it comes out like..
 
ill forge and heat treat. ill sand it down after tempering w/ 1000 grit(to leave it real dark. thanks for the help, i think you helped me make up my mind:D :D :thumbup:
 
those blades are awesome. thats exactly what im gonna do(without copying of course)!
