Sometimes a knife just has cosmetic problems, like this 3 dot 112. I bought it, it was sharpened maybe twice, but the blade had scratches, the bolsters were dinged up and the like. I refinished the blade, bolsters and handle and it gave this knife a new appearence and is ready for my display. I have been doing alot of these buck restoration projects lately and really enjoy them. The 2 pin 112 on the bottom is next, that blade just irritates me.

Before, second from the top:

Nope, no where near post falls :D. Thanks for the comments guys, the other three are going to get the same treatment, leading off with the 3 pin 112, then the 3 pin 110, then the 2 dot 110 is getting a ttoal custom overhaul for my carry knife

Or maybe you want to recruit this guy?

Muskrat Man......share your methods, please. Maybe I can pick up a trick or two......so far I know about Brasso and SimaChrome.

:D

Hi MM,

I also have picked up a few that need a little TLC. You guys got me to fix the art work someone did with an electric engraver. Now I need to see how you got the scratches off the blade???? Did you use a 3M wheel?

Hi Guys,
Don't kid yourself Joe, I do this for fun, I just get paid to do it. I got these for a good price ($12 ea w/ sheath for the bottom 3 the top one was $2) with the intentions of cleaning them and embellishing them for sale, but kind of got to thinking and figured it would be a shame to alter such nice old knives. Plus I got to looking and they filled some holes in my collection, so I need to turn over some other stuff I picked up the same day to pay for them. Anyway, you all remember the three pin from above?

Eventually when I get them all presentable I'll re take the first photo to show them all side by side. The 110 will be a challenge; it is really scratched up (the blade). As far and handles and bolsters go, it's all a matter of the correct grit sandpaper and lots of elbow grease, 3m and a buffer to polish the handles and bolsters ect back up. The top 110 (2 dot) has been sharpened a bit; I have a radical custom project idea for it.
