lol. I don't know if I spelled the topic correctly, but oh well...

I figured out that I am wanting an endura with a plain blade, but I would also like it to have a colored handle. I found a set of enduras on ebay. ( one is a training knife ) The only thing is, the training knife has the red handle and the actual knife has a black one. How difficult would it be to switch the two and about how much would that cost me, aside from the purchasing of the two knives???

don't consider it.
The knives are riveted together, and it's practically impossible to remove the rivets, and you gotta saw through the FRN to extract the blade.

Well, like I said, I really have no clue about all of this stuff...I was just wondering if it was at all possible and within a good price range.

I've heard of at least one person who attempted to extract the blade off the Endura. He have to spend so much effort on sawing the FRN handle he had grown some respect of that material ;)

Howdy, Cowgirl,

The trainers handle is red. You could always wait for a Pink Delica or Cricket on E-Bay but I don't recall any pink Enduras. You might try www.hamonoichiba.com and click on the English: Spyderco link. They have many of the FRN handle knives in several colors. Many of us here and at he Spyderco Forum have ordered from Naohiko's shop. Quick shipment and friendly service. Good luck!

I really am considering getting the delica instead of the endura since it has a smaller blade and it would be easier for me to handle. I figured that it would be hard to custumize. I guess I'm better off waiting to find one like i want the way it is.

It would be interesting to take a black Endura/Delica and fill in the handle dimples with paint. Maybe a hard enamel like they sell in hobby stores for plastic models. For some reason, I think I've seen a limited edition model with black and red handles that looked something like this.

Cowgirlkate: SS handle versions are slightly more customizable.
Anodized clips, jeweling, engraving, etching. I don't think you could anodize the handles cause you couldn't take the blade out of the handles.

SS handle versions are slightly more customizable Anodized clips.

Slightly off topic but I was thinking I read somewhere that steel can't be anodized only Titanium can? is that true? calyth I realize you said "clips" in your post and not handles it just made me think of that question.

Yeah, but over at the thread about customizing Spydies (the other link that's not Ron's page), there are clips that aren't titanium and not likely aluminum that is anodized
Update: Tom, I was wrong, they were "color polishing" the steel clip. It was a mili that have a green jeweled clip.

Sounds like the blue Delica would be just what you are looking for. Comes in plain or serrated 3 inch edge. You can see a nice picture of it here... just have to scroll a long way down butt its a nice scroll with good pics of other Spydies.
