Coticule Stone Slurry

I was wondering what type of stone is used to make a slurry on a Coticule stone when one is not using the stone with water only? The purpose is straight razor honing. I saw some on flea bay but am a little concerned about using something wrong on my Coticule.

I believe you'd use another piece of coticule stone. Anything else risks shedding into the slurry, tho I'm sure a diamond plate will raise a slurry.
