Just finished this one, real simple, didnt even bother getting all the forge marks off. From the anvil, a quick clean up, and put together. If its still with me will be bringing it down to my brothers Ranch in Cotulla TX. on a Spring hog hunt (longbow).

Blade is 9.5", overall 14-3/4", 1095FG, scotchbrite finish, Black Walnut handle.

Very dramatic blade shape and great overall lines. But my preference is for rather a lot of forge marks / texture / scale left behind or else none at all.

HI Roger, I agree, but this was a case of forging a tad too close and I didnt want to take any more out of the spine area. IF I would have hand sanded I could have sanded it all out , but the goal here was something to either sell for a very good price or keep and stick in a hog. Didnt want to make it too pretty to beat the Mesquite with.

Steve, trying to figure out if im going to spot/stalk hunt or build a ground blind. Maybe a combo. of both.

I will probably wind up doing an ultra light bead blast on the blade/guard, then polishing the edge/clip. Ive done that before on a few and it makes a real good serviceable finish that also looks unique.

I hear you Matt - and I don't doubt it would make for a very fierce cutter.

Roger

Thanks guys, I re-radiused the handle/guard junction, feels better and a bit "snappier" in the cut now-

going to do an ultralight bead blast then hone the edge/clip today. Handle will stay "smooth".

hi Joe, there are plenty of hogs on my brothers place down near Cotulla/Fowlerton. Going to try and stick one with my longbow, and this blade will be my "back up" just in case!
