Could I get some Cricket opinions, please?

I currently carry Kershaw Chive in my watch pocket, although I have recently been infected with the spyderinflueza virus. I was wonering if the SS Cricket would fit in this space, and also, how the two might compare. If you have owned either or both I would love to hear your opinions.
Thanks.

I have both, a rainbow chive and a Cricket SS. They are both great little knives but a little difficult to compare because they are so different. There is a good chance that the Cricket will fit most places the Chive will but, as is obvious from any pic, the Cricket is round and the Chive is long and thin so pocket shape will come into it.

They are both sturdy knives that will perform any small cutting task well, either one will do pretty much what the other will. In the end I think it will come down to personal choice more than anything else.

Go ahead and get he Cricket SS. It's cheap enough to give as a present if you find you don't like it for some reason but I strongly suspect you will be keeping it.

You'll love the Cricket, everybody does. :)
OTOH, I also have a Chive and I'm very fond of it, but the sprig broke two times so far :( I still have a couple of spare springs, but I seldom carry my Chive now. I wonder if this is a common issue with Kershaw's assisted openers.

I still have my Chive (black boron) and it was fun to play with but since I got a SS PE Cricket it has not seen any pocket time.

In my experience, the SS Cricket is MUCH sturdier and useful than the Chive.

Also, the SS Cricket just begs to have some custom scales put on. I added cocobolo on both sides, took off the clip, and tied on a lanyard.

Without modification, though, the SS Cricket is amazingly thin and a lot of folks like it for that reason.

Great blade shape, too.

A bit over a year ago, I loaned my wife my FRN Cricket rather than have her buy a POS Dragonfly clone at the grocery store. She loved it, finding it perfect for the nit-picking little chores for which she uses a pocket knife, so I found her one of her own that an member had worked with a file for decorative purposes and she likes it even better. The file work on the back of the blade gives her better purchase and control when using the knife.
